This is a fine quality manufacture private purchase replacement Spanish Cross in Gold with Swords; made out of gilded brass; vaulted version; without maker marks but textbook piece from company “Petz & Lorenz, Reichenbach”; on simple small hinge and with a straight pin; measuring 56.57 mm x 56.56 mm; weighing 33.3 grams; extremely fine condition with the gilding on the reverse being very nicely preserved, and the reverse being nearly mint.
Footnote: The Spanish Cross in Gold was awarded to soldiers of the Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War (July 17, 1936 - April 1, 1939). Only 1126 gold crosses were awarded.
