(Kriegsverdienstkreuz I. Klasse mit Etui). Constructed of silvered tombak, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central mobile swastika inside of an oak leaf wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with an illegible maker’s mark visible on the pinback, measuring 48.11 mm (w) x 47.84 mm (h), weighing 15.1 grams, accompanied by its period original case of issue, constructed of card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the exterior of the lid with a silver embossed Maltese Cross, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted black felt medal bed, opening with a functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional magnetic metal hinge, measuring 65 mm (w) x 68 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
