Constructed of silvered zink, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobiled swastika, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, the pinback marked with code “L/18” for maker B.H. Mayer, Pforzheim, measuring 49.57 mm (w) x 49.45 mm (h), weighing 21.0 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the exterior lid with a silver embossed depiction of the decoration, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted black velvet medal bed, opening with a functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional magnetic metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 67 mm (w) x 67 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
