Constructed of silvered tombak, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, with crossed swords piercing the centerpiece, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, the pinback marked with code “1” for maker Deschler & Sohn, München, measuring 48.52 mm (w) x 48.18 mm (h), weighing 23.9 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the obverse lid with a silver depiction of the award, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted black doeskin wool medal bed, opening with a magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional magnetic metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 65 mm (l) x 24 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
