Constructed of silvered tombak, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, the pinback with an illegible Präsidialkanzlei maker’s code, measuring 48.45 mm (w) x 48.24 mm (h), weighing 13.9 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the lid with a silver embossed depiction of the award, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted black felt medal bed, opening with a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), some loss of finish and material fatigue evident to the award and case, respectively, with the case also missing its spring clip and exterior stud, in overall better than very fine condition.
