(Kriegsverdienstkreuz I. Klasse mit Schwertern). Constructed of silvered tombak, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with pebbled arms and a central raised mobile swastika inside of an oak leaf wreath, with crossed swords piercing the centre, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 48.22 mm (w) x 47.62 mm (h), weighing 23.0 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the obverse lid with a silver embossed outline of the decoration, the interior with a padded white satin-type lid liner and slotted black doeskin medal bed, opening with a functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional magnetic metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 65 mm (w) x 65 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), in better than very fine condition.
