(Kriegsverdienstmedaille). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension, the obverse with a raised Maltese Cross, overlaid by a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with an inscription of “FÜR KRIEGS-VERDIENST 1939” (“FOR WAR MERIT 1939”), unmarked, measuring 32.08 mm in diameter, weighing 13.6 grams, accompanied by its period original package of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, the obverse exterior with an inscription of “KRIEGS-VERDIENSTMEDAILLE 1939”, the reverse exterior with a maker’s mark of “FRANK & REIF, STUTTGART”, measuring 58 mm (w) x 85 mm (h), material fatigue evident to the package, in overall near extremely fine condition.
