An original case of issue, constructed of heavy pressed paper with a textured black faux leather (leatherette) exterior, with the outline of a War Merit Cross I Class with Swords embossed on the exterior of the lid, lined interior lid with a recessed medal bed, functional spring catch with stud release, intact interior fabric hinge cover, functional exterior metal hinge, maker marked on interior lid with Deschler & Sohn, München, measuring 68 mm (w) x 69 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), and in near very fine condition.
