Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central mobile swastika inside of an oak leaf wreath, the reverse with a central date of “1939” inside of an oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 48.90 mm (w) x 48.96 mm (h), weighing 24.6 grams, accompanied by its period original pocket of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, the obverse with an inscription of “KRIEGSVERDIENSTKREUZ 2. KLASSE MIT SCHWERTERN” in Fraktur script, the reverse with a maker’s mark of “CARL POELLATH, SCHROBENHAUSEN”, measuring 104 mm (w) x 104 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
