Germany, Heer. A Fallschirmjäger Badge, by C.E. Juncker
(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by C.E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 42.80 mm (w) x 55.35 mm (h), weighing 30.7 grams, with loss of finish evident throughout, in overall very fine condition.
