Germany, Heer. An Army-Issued Demjansk Shield
(Ärmelschild Demjansk). Constructed of magnetic metal, set on a field-grey wool patch with a black paper backer, with all four reverse attachment prongs intact, the obverse with a central shield overlaid by crossed swords, a plane, and a date of “1942”, topped by an inscription of “DEMJANSK” and a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 44 mm (w) x 94 mm (h) (not inclusive of backer), in very fine condition.
