A textbook example of a Wehrmacht Heer Crimea Campaign shield “Ärmelschild”; in bronzed metal (magnetic); on a field grey wool backer; with a metal backer on the reverse and all four prongs intact behind a paper backing marked “JFS 42” for “Josef Feix & Söhne” and “1942” manufacture; measuring 64 mm (w) x 75 mm (h); with very faint signs of oxidation on the obverse on the left claw and left wing, but in overall mint and unissued condition.
