Germany, Heer. A Krim Shield
(Heer Krimschild). Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates “1941-1942”, secured with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a field-grey wool reverse liner indicating Heer issue, unmarked, the shield measuring 52.40 mm (w) x 61.40 mm (h), with oxidation evident throughout both the shield and backplate which has soiled the wool liner, in fair condition.
