Germany, Heer. A Mint Narvik Shield
(Heer Narvikchild). Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a propellers, anchor, and edelweiss, representing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjäger, respectively, flanked by a date of “1940”, topped by an inscription of “NARVIK” and a German national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a field-grey wool liner indicating Heer issue, the shield measuring 41.28 mm (w) x 92.08 mm (h), in near mint condition.
