Germany, Wehrmacht. A Heer (Army) Issued Demjansk Shield
(Ärmelschild Demjansk). Constructed of stamped silvered zink, the obverse depicting a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, with a log-pillbox on either side, above an inscription of “DEMJANSK”, with a frontal view of a single-propeller plane overlaid by two crossed swords, with a bottom date of “1942”, set on a field-grey Heer (Army) wool background, the reverse with its paper backer intact, with all four attachment prongs intact, measuring 52 mm (w) x 93 mm (h) (without wool background), in extremely fine condition.
