Germany. An Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade
(Infantrie-Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered hollow zink, with a national eagle clutching a swastika on the top and a bow-tie on the bottom. Diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle; the reverse plain; with a vertical round wire pinback, a barrel hinge, and a flat catch; unmarked; measuring 48.71 mm (w) x 60.71 mm (h); weighing 20.7 grams; with all of its silver finish worn off, but with enough remaining to positively identify this badge as a silver grade infantry assault badge; in overall near very fine condition.
