Constructed of gilded tombak, vertical pinback, obverse depicts a Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet) bearing a mobile swastika on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field with laurel branch wreath, unmarked, measuring 36.66 mm (w) x 43.94 mm (h), weighing 23.0 grams, accompanied by its period original case, constructed of heavy cardstock with a faux black leather exterior, white satin-type lid liner, intact hinge cover, slotted white felt medal bed, functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, functional magnetic metal hinge, maker marked on bottom “B.H. Mayer, Pforzheim”, measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (l), in extremely fine condition.
