Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Bronze Grade, by Adolf Scholze
(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central Panzer IV rolling over grassy terrain, with its left tread extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Adolf Scholze, Gablonz, measuring 42.70 mm (w) x 62.96 mm (h), weighing 24.3 grams, demonstrating sporadic oxidation to the obverse, in extremely fine condition.
