Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Bronze Grade, by Rudolf Souval
(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central depiction of a Panzer IV rolling across grassy terrain, with its left tread extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Rudolf Souval, Vienna, measuring 41.86 mm (w) x 59.92 mm (h), weighing 31.2 grams, with loss of finish throughout in addition to period repair of the catch, in very fine condition.
