Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Silver Grade
(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central Panzer IV rolling over grassy terrain, with its left tread extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback, unmarked, measuring 42.08 mm (w) x 60.30 mm (h), weighing 34.0 grams, most of the silver finish has been lost and the flat while catch has broken off but is retained, in very fine condition.
