Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Silver Grade, by E. Ferdinand Wiedmann
(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central Panzer IV rolling over grassy terrain, with its left tread extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a crimpsed barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the logo of E. Ferdinand Wiedmann, Frankfurt, measuring 42.16 mm (w) x 59.97 mm (h), weighing 30.8 grams, in extremely fine condition.
