Constructed of gilded tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath tied together at the bottom by a bowtie ribbon, the obverse with a central Stahlhelm bearing a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, marked with code “L/56” for maker Funcke & Brüninghaus, Lüdenscheid, measuring 36.50 mm (w) x 44.30 mm (h), weighing 33.5 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
