Germany. A Second War Period Silver Grade Infantry Assault Badge by Josef Feix & Sohn
A second war German “Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen” silver grade; oval shaped oak leaf wreath in silvered zink, with a national eagle clutching a swastika on the top and a bowtie on the bottom. Diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle; the reverse plain; with a vertical round wire pinback, a crimped barrel hinge, and a crimped flat wire catch; maker marked "JFS" for "Josef Feix & Sohn"; measuring 48.42 mm (w) x 61.82 mm (h); weighing 27.8 grams; silvering nearly fully intact; in mint condition.
