This is a very well preserved special grade tank badge for 75 panzer engagements with the majority of its gilding remaining on the obverse and reverse; oval shaped gilded late war production zink; the obverse with a border of oak leaves with a small box containing the numerals “75” at the base, and a Panzerkampfwagen IV superimposed in the centre on grassy ground, with the left tank track extending over the edge of the badge; the reverse plain with a vertical slender banjo style pin, a crimped sheet metal hinge, and a crimped flat wire catch; maker marked “JFS” for “Josef Feix & Söhne” on the reverse; measuring 62.08 mm x 51.85 mm; weighing 41.3 grams; extremely fine condition with the majority of the original gilding preserved.
