Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Bronze Grade, by Adolf Scholze
(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, with a central Panzer IV on grassy ground, with its left tread extending beyond the wreath, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “A.S.” for Adolf Scholze, Gablonz, measuring 42.90 mm (w) x 62.65 mm (h), weighing 24.3 grams, in extremely fine condition.
