Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Bronze Grade, by Friedrich Linden
(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central Panzer IV rolling over grassy terrain, with its left tread extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, measuring 42.33 mm (w) x 60.86 mm (h), weighing 33.0 grams, most of the bronze finish has been lost and there is evidence of soldered repair to the hinge, in very fine condition.
