Germany, Heer. A Special Grade Tank Badge for 25 Panzer Engagements, by Josef Feix & Söhne
(Wehrmacht Heer Panzerkampfabzeichen mit Einsatzzahl 25). Instituted in June 1943 by Walther von Brauchitsch. (Issued 1943-1945). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a border of oak leaves with a box at the base displaying the numeral “25”, with a Panzer superimposed in the centre rolling over wooden logs, with its left tank track extending over the edge of the badge, he reverse plain with a vertical banjo style pin, a crimped barrel hinge and a crimped flat wire catch, with two rivets on the reverse, marked “JFS” for “Josef Feix & Söhne” on the reverse, measuring 47.57 mm (w) x 62.08 mm (h), weighing 36.7 grams, in overall better than extremely fine condition.
