Germany, Wehrmacht. A Special Grade Panzer Assault Badge for 25 Engagements, by Josef Feiz & Söhne
(Panzerkampfabzeichen mit Einsatzzahl 25). Constructed of silvered and patinated zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a plaque bearing a raised number “25”, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, overlaid by a central Panzer IV rolling over wooden logs, with its left tank track extending over the edge of the badge, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, with two visible aluminum rivets securing the obverse Panzer in place, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by Josef Feix & Söhne, Gablonz, measuring 47.36 mm (w) x 62.00 mm (h), weighing 33.8, in near extremely fine condition.
