Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Bronze Grade, by Hermann Aurich
(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath tied together at the bottom by a ribbon and topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central Panzerkampfwagen IV superimposed in the centre on grassy ground, with its left tank track extending over the edge of the badge, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, marked with the logo of maker Hermann Aurich, Dresden, measuring 41.67 mm (w) x 60.17 mm (h), weighing 29.5 grams, most of the finish has been lost, otherwise in near extremely fine condition.
