Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Silver Grade, by Rudolf Karneth & Söhne
(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, around a central Panzer IV rolling over grassy terrain, with its left tread extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Rudolf Karneth & Söhne, Gablonz, measuring 42.88 mm (w) x 62.95 mm (h), weighing 25.5 grams, most of the silver finish has been lost and the catch, while included, has broken off, in overall fair condition.
