A Second War German Black Grade Wound Badge in its Packet of Issue by Ludwig Bertsch
A second war German “Verwundetenabzeichen”; oval shaped blackened metal (magnetic); the obverse pebbled with a Stahlhelm featuring a large mobile swastika on its side superimposed on crossed swords within a wreath of laurel wreaths with a tied bow at the bottom; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, barrel hinge, and a round wire catch; measuring 44.72 mm x 37.03 mm; weighing 12.0 grams. Accompanied by its packet of issue; with “Verwundetenabzeichen - Schwarz” printed in black gothic lettering on the obverse, and “Ludwig Bertsch, Karlsruhe” in the same style on the reverse; measuring 105 mm x 59 mm; the wound badge is lightly woirn, in overall very fine condition.
