Germany, Wehrmacht. A Lot of Wound Badges
(Verwundetenabzeichen). A lot of three Wound Badges, including a Black Grade award, constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 36.67 mm (w) x 43.88 mm (h), weighing 11.1 grams, with loss of paint evident, in fair condition; a second Black Grade award, constructed of blackened bronze, of identical composition, unmarked, measuring 36.23 mm (w) x 43.77 mm (h), weighing 12.3 grams, with loss of paint evident, in fair condition, and; a Silver Grade award, constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm on top of crossed swords on a pebbled background, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, the pinback maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “4” for Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid, measuring 36.85 mm (w) x 44.35 mm (h), weighing 34.1 grams, the obverse swastika has been ground out and most of the silver finish has been lost, in fair condition.
