Germany. A Cased 1941 DRL Germany-Hungary Boxing Championship Medal
A 1941 Germany-Hungary (Deutschland-Ungarn) DRL (National Socialist League of the Reich for Physical Exercise/National Socialist League of the Reich for Physical Exercise) Box-Länderkampf table medal; constructed of copper wash bronze and red, white, green, and blue enamels; inscribed “6.7.1941” and “Magdeburg”; the reverse with a stamped stylized logo of “Hermann Aurich of Dresden”; measuring 80.60 mm in diameter. Accompanied by its original case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper, with a black faux leather (leatherette) exterior; lined interior lid, with a recessed medal bed; measuring 116 mm x 116 mm; the table medal with contact marks and chips on the enamels, and with most of its original finish worn off; the case with the exterior leatherette ripped from the lid, revealing some of the interior lining, as well as with its leatherette hinge severed on the reverse; in overall fine condition.
