A pair of greyhound racing medals, including a first place medal, constructed of gilded silver, the obverse with two raised greyhounds in mid-stride, the reverse with an inscription of “I. GAU-RENNSIEGER BERLIN 1939”, within an oak leaf wreath joined together at the bottom by ribbon, the obverse maker marked “DERTEL, BERLIN”, measuring 39.61 mm in diameter, weighing 22.4 grams, in near extremely fine condition, and; a second place medal, constructed of silver, the obverse with two raised greyhounds in mid-stride, the reverse with an inscription of “II. GAU-RENNSIEGER BERLIN 1939”, within an oak leaf wreath joined together at the bottom by ribbon, the obverse maker marked “DERTEL, BERLIN”, measuring 39.58 mm in diameter, weighing 27.7 grams, some oxidation evident, in overall better than very fine condition.
