Empire Resources for Dogs Merit Award 1939 - Silvered metal, maker marked "B.H. MAYER PFORZHEIM" on the reverse, illustrating an eagle standing on an oak leaf branch, with a swastika between its legs and flanked by the letters "R" and "H", inscribed "Dem Verdienst" above and "REICHSVERBAND FÜR HUNDEWESEN . Reichsfieger-Aufstellung" below, 55.8 mm x 78.8 mm, attempt made to depress the swastika as evidenced by scratches on it, light contact and gilt wear overall, very fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, pebbled exterior with a repeating rose design on the bottom, green ribbon inscribed "21 Mai 1939" in gold, angled across the purple satin inside lid, recessed medal bed, case near very fine.
