Germany, NSKK. A 1937 Motor Group Hesse Motor Trip Commemorative Plaque, by E. Ferdinand Wiedmann
(NSKK Motorgruppe Hessen Erinnerungsplakette). Constructed of coppered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an eight-pointed starburst, bearing a central disc overlaid by a Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps (National Socialist Motor Corps/NSKK) insignia surrounded by enameled regional coats of arms, circumscribed by an inscription of “HESSENFAHRT 1937 MOTORGRUPPE HESSEN” (“HESSEN TRIP 1937 MOTOR GROUP HESSE”), the reverse maker marked “E. FERDINAND WIEDMANN, FRANKFURT A. M.” perforated with four holes for rivet attachment to a wooden base which has been lost to time, measuring 90 mm (w) x 90 mm (h), demonstrating some scratching to the enamels with a soldered repair to the reverse, in very fine condition.
