Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Long Service Award, I Class for 25 Years, with Case
(Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei I. Klasse mit Etui). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 43.15 mm (w) x 47.89 mm (h), weighing 23.2 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a light wooden frame with a faux dark green exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilded and wreathed number “25”, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and slotted grey felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 100 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), moderate material fatigue is visible to the case but the decoration remains in a near mint condition.
