Germany, Third Reich. A Civil Service 50-Year Long Service Decoration
(Treuedienst-Ehrenzeichen Sonderstufe für 50 Jahre). Constructed of gilded and silvered bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms joined together through the quadrants by a circular oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central black enameled swastika, the twelve o’clock arm bearing a raised number “50”, the reverse bearing a central inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 41.38 mm (w) x 46.19 mm (h), weighing 22.0 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
