Germany, Third Reich. A German Equestrian Badge, Gold Grade, by L. Christian Lauer
                (Deutsches Reiterabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath,joined together at the bottom by a belt bearing a central letter “R”, around a mounted horse on a hollow background, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “L. CHR. LAUER, NÜRNBERG”, measuring 41.92 mm (w) x 51.88 mm (h), weighing 14.5 grams, with only traces amounts of gilt finish remaining, in very fine condition.
