Germany, Third Reich. A German Female Railway Staff Service Badge, Bronze Grade
(Dienstnadel für deutsche Eisenbahnerinnen in Bronze). Constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a mobile swastika, overlaid by a Reichsbahn insignia in the form of a winged wheel, the reverse with a narrow barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 30.22 mm (w) x 21.90 mm (h), weighing 5.3 grams, accompanied by its original package of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, the exterior bearing an inscription of “DIENSTNADEL FÜR DEUTSCHE EISENBAHNERINNEN” and a stamp of “BRONZE”, measuring 70 mm (w) x 105 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
