Germany, Third Reich. A Lot of Second War Period Day Badges
(Tagesabzeichen). A group of four Third Reich period day badges, including a badge for the 1939 2. Kreistag NSDAP Grafschaft Hoya, constructed of a metal oval badge with an eagle at the top, standing on wreathed swastika, with three soldiers in profile in the centre obscuring the swastika, the reverse shows maker mark “PAULMANN & CRONE LÜDENSCHEID,” and RZM code “M 9/60,” on a horizontal retaining pin, measures 35 mm (w) x 47 mm (h), and in near extremely fine condition. A 1939 Reichstagung-Deutscher Forstverein (“Reich Meeting of the German Forestry Association”) badge, on a horizontal pin, measures 31 mm in diameter, shows cracking on reverse, and in good condition. A donation badge against hunger and cold for Gau Madgeburg, the obverse centre presents two crossed ears of wheat and a fire bowl above, bordered with “GEGEN HUNGER UND KÄLTE GAU MAGDEBURG-ANHALT,” reverse presents a horizontal pin, unmarked, measures 46 mm (w) x 46 mm (h), and in very fine condition. A “German is the Saar” badge by Glaser & Sohn, in bronze, reverse presents a vertical pinback, maker mark, measures 27.5 mm (w) x 37 mm (h), and in very fine condition.
