Germany, Third Reich. A Plaque for Merit in Dog Training, with Case
(Hundwesen Leistungsplakette). Constructed of white porcelain, the obverse bearing a raised insignia of the Reichsverband für Hundwesen, above an inscription of “FÜR HERVORRAGENDE LEITUNG” (“FOR EXCEPTIONAL MERIT”), the reverse with an unidentified maker’s mark, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux brown leather exterior, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a depressed brown velvet medal bed, opening with a functional spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 94 mm (w) x 128 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), with material fatigue evident to the case, in overall near extremely fine condition.
