Constructed of oval bronze; the obverse consisting of an oak wreath with a manned chariot being pulled by two horses in the centre of the badge, and “R” for “Reiter” on the bottom of the badge; the reverse plain; with a vertical pinback, a barrel hinge, and a flat wire catch; maker marked “L. Chr. Lauer Nürnberg-Berlin” and “Ges. Gesch.” on the reverse; measuring 40.26 mm (w) x 50.71 mm (h); weighing 17.6 grams. With its stick pin; measuring 14.52 mm (w) x 17.82 mm (h), with a 57 mm long needle pin; marked “L. Chr. Lauer Nürnberg-Berlin” and “Ges. Gesch.”. Accompanied by its original two-piece presentation case; constructed of cardstock, with a light blue exterior; measuring 55 mm (w) x 105 mm (h); in overall extremely fine condition.
