Germany, RNST. A Reichsnährstand State Farmers Group of Rhineland Medal for the Provincial Equestrian Exhibition of 1937
(Reichsnährstand Verdienstmedaille). A circular, gilded bronze medallion, the obverse shows a central horizontal bar bearing the inscription “Blut und Boden” (“Blood and Soil”), above is a stylized eagle emblem, below is a design depicting the Reichsnährstand logo of an ear-of-corn and dagger, surmounted over a swastika, on a circular background, with leaf motifs on either side, the circular border inscription reads “LANDESBAUERNSCHAFT RHEINLAND HAUPTABTEILUNG II,” the reverse presents a central inscription reading “PROVINZIAL-PFERDE-AUSSTELLUNG 1937” (“PROVINCIAL EQUESTRIAN EXHIBITION 1937”), surrounded by an embossed circular border design of various fruits and vegetables, on ring for suspension, measures 69.97 mm in diameter, and in very fine condition.
