A mint and cased example of a third reich period Police 25-Year Long Service Cross “Dienstauszeichnung für Treue Dienste in der Polizei”; a cross pattee in gilt bronze, with an oval oak wreath and police-style eagle with outstretched wings and a wreathed mobile swastika in its talons; the reverse with a centre inscribed “Für Treue Dienste in der Polizei” (For Loyal Services in the Police); on loop for suspension; accompanied by its mint and unused period original ribbon; measuring 43.14 mm (w) x 43.17 mm (h); weighing 23.5 grams. Accompanied by its presentation case; constructed of heavy pressed paper with a Forrest-green faux leather (leatherette) exterior; the exterior of the lid embossed “25” within an open ended wreath in gold; lined interior lid, severed interior fabric hinge cover; functional spring catch with stud release, and functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (h); in overall mint condition.
