A mint and unissued example of a third reich period 4-Year Long Service award; a bronzed aluminum medal; the obverse depicting a spade with a mobile swastika and two wheat stalks in a “V” formation; the reverse inscribed “Für treue Dienste im Reichsarbeitsdienst” (For loyal services in the National Labour Service); on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon featuring a sewn-on horizontal pinback; measuring 32.74 mm (w) x 44.86 mm (h); weighing 10.3 grams. Accompanied by its original presentation case of issue; constructed of cardstock with a faux leather (leatherette) exterior; the exterior of the lid embossed with the numeral “4” in silver; measuring 47 mm (w) x 100 mm (h); in absolutely mint and unissued condition.
