Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, the obverse with a central RAD insignia, the reverse with an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IM REICHSARBEITSDIENST” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE REICH LABOUR SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 32.79 mm (w) x 44.79 mm (h), weighing 10.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of card stock with a faux light brown leather exterior, the obverse lid with a gold embossed number “4” inside of a cogwheel, the interior with a slotted medal bed, unmarked, measuring 46 mm (w) x 100 mm (l) x 15 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
