Germany, Third Reich. A 1933 Oschersleben Marksmanship Competition Medal, with Case, by L. Christian Lauer
(Schiessen Medaille mit Etui). Constructed of silver, the obverse with a raised Oschersleben coat of arms above crossed rifles, the reverse with an inscription of “7. HARZGAU SCHIESSEN OSCHERSLEBEN (BODE) 10.-12. SEPTEMBER 1933”, above mobile swastika and oak leaves, the obverse maker marked “L. CHR. LAUER, NÜRNBERG”, the edge with a silver content number of “990”, measuring 37.98 in diameter, weighing 23.1 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux purple leather exterior, the interior with a white satin lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a depressed blue velvet medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 65 mm (w) x 65 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
