An Early Model 1933 NSKK Dagger by Pfeilringewerk of Solingen

A fine example of a standard model 1933 NSKK dagger, measuring 366 mm with the scabbard on, and featuring a 218 mm magnetic nickel-plated steel blade, with slightly sharpened edges and a semi-sharp tip. The blade’s reverse ricasso is maker marked with the stylized logo of “Pfeilringewerk, Solingen”. It is diamond shaped, with the obverse of the blade etched with the SA motto, “Alles für Deutschland” (Anything for Germany), retaining some of its original cross-graining, with a moderate amount of light scratches on the blade common to to extraction and return to the scabbard, but without any rusting or pitting of any kind. The cross-guard is constructed of solid nickel, with moderate loss of finish and scattered contact marks and scratches, with eight deep, undarkened grooves, and a “Om” district mark for “Ostmark” (Austria). The hardwood grip is mahogany-coloured with black undertones from storage or wear. It sits tightly against the upper and lower cross-guard, fitting well in its place. The national eagle (Hoheitszeichen) sits snug in it place and is level with the wood, without significant gaps between the eagle and the grip. The roundel sits equally snug, and flush with the grip, featuring the SA logo within brown enamels. The pommel nut is tight, and without any obvious signs of having been loosened. The scabbard is constructed of black-painted steel with nickel-silver fittings, missing two of four screws. Overall, this dagger is in better than very fine condition.
