An Etched Bayonet Dedicated to the Reconnaissance Detachment Division 4

(Aufklärungs-Abteilung.4) : Measuring 345 mm in length with the scabbard on, this dagger features a 200 mm long nickel-plated steel blade, magnetic, with a dull edge, remaining bright and crisp, and having a very sharp tip. It is etched with a wide banner with an ornate leafed border, inscribed "Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit bei der Aufklärungs-Abtlg.4" (In Memory of my Service with Reconnaissance Detachment 4), with partial-length fullers on both sides and is unmarked on the ricasso. It retains its crossgraining, in addition to mild scratches overall, common to extraction and return to the scabbard, and a natural shine, near extremely fine. Black finished leather washer remains relatively supple and is intact. Crossguard with quillon exhibits very light contact, the pommel with contact marks on his end, while both plates of the black synthetic grip are held in firmly place by two rivets and central pins, a strip of forest green felt inserted into the slot in the back of the pommel, the dagger measuring 318 in length. Accompanied by its black metal scabbard, magnetic, with frog stud, metal locket at the blade entry end, ball finial, the scabbard measuring 225 mm in length, exhibiting contact marks and surface wear in various locations. The dagger in its 47 mm x 200 mm unmarked brown leather holster, exhibiting light crazing an wear. Near extremely fine.
